On THURSDAY Nick and I went to the Lemon Tree in downtown Downers Grove. The Lemon Tree is a high-end grocery store with an "old world market approach" that offers naturally fresh, locally sourced foods. They have skilled butchers and cheese mongers that can tell you everything about all of their premium products. We tried a sample of Roquefort blue cheese that sold for $23.00/ lb..... d e l i c i o u s (most of their products are not this insanely priced). They also have an extensive wine/beer selection - you can even buy a beer and drink it while you shop! (my dream come true)or bring it to your table at the Zest restaurant/cafe. We both had Niman Ranch Hamburgers with aged cheddar cheese on a brioche bun (which you can see in the last picture). I am not typically a 'burger person' but these were outta this world and I can't wait to go back for another! (MONDAYS are $5 burgers and $1 any topping).
Go check it out for yourself!
